After breathing molecular hydrogen starting with 10 minute sessions graduating to 60 minute sessions, at 1000 mL per minute. At the 2 1/2 year mark I woke up one morning, and I saw the scene where I was murdered. This has always been a very garbled memory. As Michael came through the bathroom door, I remember being terrified, for some reason my brain put Grampy my grandfather face on him. The last thing I remember, was looking up through the water at Michael's angry face but again my brain put my grandfather face on him. Now in present day I could see that it was Michael. I seem to be able to think about the scene without too much emotional stress. I feel as though I'm seeing it as an adult and understanding what it is so that I can heal and move on. Neural plasticity has returned to my brain where that memory is stored. I was stuck in this state in my mind for approximately 60 years.
Neural plasticity
Is the brain’s ability to change, adapt, rewire and form new connections in response to experience, learning, injury, or environment. The trauma that I experienced, gave me the opposite of neural plasticity, which is neuro rigidity. Neurons that fire together wire together circuits that aren’t used weaken or go quiet. This happens through changes in synapses, neurotransmitter signaling, gene expression, and even the growth or pruning of neural connections, plasticity is how we learn, adapt, recover and sometimes how we get stuck.
Neuro rigidity
More specifically, neural rigidity involves fixed neural pathways circuits fire the same way over and over with little variation reduced synaptic remodeling fewer new connections, weakened pruning, limited strengthening of new pathways statelocking the brain gets “stuck” in a particular mode threat, depression, pain, habit. Lower adaptability learning is slower, recovery is harder, change feels effortful or impossible high energetic cost to change it takes a lot of input to shift states.
This can show up as In lived experience as repetitive thoughts (ruminating thoughts) or emotional loops, chronic pain patterns, persistent stress or trauma responses, difficulty learning new skills or unlearning old ones. A sense of being “trapped” in a mental or physiological state.
Pathway and Mechanisms of MH delivery to the brain via nasal cannula when MH is inhaled through a nasal cannula, it reaches the brain through two anatomically and physiologically plausible pathways direct nose to brain diffusion via the olfactory route. Indirect systemic delivery via pulmonary absorption and circulation both pathways are consistent with established principles of gas diffusion, nasal drug delivery research, and hydrogen pharmacokinetics.
From the olfactory epithelium molecules can diffuse along olfactory nerve pathways. As MH reaches the olfactory bulb which is part of the forebrain this route bypasses the blood brain barrier which is well documented in intranasal drug delivery research. And research shows that it initially arrives in 30 to 60 seconds however, I have noticed it takes only a few seconds to feel the mental shift in my brain.
But wait, there's more!
In the next blog post on CPTSD I'm going to be writing about why it's an absolute no brainer (pun intended) for someone that has CPTSD to begin molecular hydrogen therapy as soon as possible. In my journey, I have noticed that along with these shifts in my mind or a different state of mind. The bonus effect kicks in, so far most of all the health melodies that I have been dealing with have vanished as well. Lowering my blood pressure, no more erectile dysfunction, heighten testosterone levels, better digestion I hardly ever get heartburn, better metabolism, knee and wrist, pain gone, plantar fasciitis gone. Can you imagine a treatment that has no known side effects, but has verifiable bonus effects. Stay tuned!
