Erectile dysfunction my story
About 10 years ago when I was in my early 50s something changed in my body some call it “manopause”. The best way to describe it I think is something took the wind out of my sails. When I researched what was going on with me, it was low testosterone. My symptoms were low to no drive for anything. No sex drive, erectile dysfunction, my penis dripping after I urinate, weight gain. This was before I knew about molecular hydrogen for health purposes. So I was taking a supplement to boost testosterone. It helped quite a bit. It didn't solve all the problems though but I began to feel better like there was some wind in my sails again. It was costing me about $70 a month for the supplement. The machine on the right is the one that I've been using for two years.
About six years ago, I started molecular hydrogen therapy at about six months after beginning breathing starting at 20 minutes to session graduating up to 60 minutes at 1000 mL per minute of MH. I woke up one morning with an erection. Which was a surprise "bonus effect" to me. The supplement was making me feel better, but I was still having erectile dysfunction, dripping after urinating, etc. So I knew it had to be because of the MH. I have been taking the supplement for about two years before I started MH. Now I don't have any of those problems I'm functioning at a level equivalent of my 30s right now and I'm 62 years old.
Here is a breakdown of the current science, human health insights, and the mechanisms that make molecular hydrogen a "breath of fresh air" for reproductive wellness.
The Root of the Problem: Oxidative Stress
Most cases of ED are vascular, meaning they are caused by issues with blood flow. When the body is under oxidative stress, it produces an excess of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). These "free radicals" damage the delicate lining of blood vessels the endothelium and neutralize Nitric Oxide (NO) the molecule responsible for relaxing blood vessels to allow for an erection.
How Molecular Hydrogen Helps
Molecular hydrogen is a unique antioxidant because of its size. As the smallest molecule in the universe, it can easily diffuse through cell membranes and enter the mitochondria and nucleus. Selective Targeting Unlike some antioxidants that neutralize all free radicals including the good ones used for signaling MH selectively targets the most cytotoxic toxic radicals, such as the hydroxyl radical OH. The bioavailability of MH It reaches areas that larger antioxidant supplements simply can't.
What the Research Says
While large-scale, multi-year human clinical trials specifically for ED are still developing, existing human and pilot studies on metabolic health and animal models for ED provide a compelling picture improved vascular function.
A 2020 study published in Scientific Reports and other clinical observations have shown that drinking hydrogen-rich water (HRW) improves endothelial function. In human subjects with metabolic syndrome, MH consumption resulted in a significant increase in antioxidant enzyme activity and improved blood flow markers. Since ED is often a "canary in the coal mine" for cardiovascular health, these vascular improvements are highly relevant.
The Diabetic Connection
Diabetes is a leading cause of ED due to high levels of oxidative stress. Research published in Journal of sexual medicine animal models with human-parallel mechanisms demonstrated that hydrogen-rich saline effectively improved erectile function by Increasing the expression of eNOS the enzyme that creates Nitric Oxide. Reducing cell death apoptosis in the corpus cavernosum (the sponge-like tissue of the penis).
Testosterone Support
Preliminary studies suggest that MH may help maintain healthy testosterone levels. By reducing oxidative stress in the Leydig cells of the testes where testosterone is produced, MH may help protect the male reproductive system from age related or toxin induced decline.
Methods of Administration
There are three primary ways researchers study the delivery of molecular hydrogen to humans:
Method description pros hydrogen rich water (HRW)Dissolving H2 gas into water under pressure. Easiest for daily use great for metabolic health inhalation breathing 2-4% hydrogen gas through a nasal cannula it delivers higher concentrations quickly to the bloodstream. MH baths soaking in hydrogen saturated water achieves a high absorption through the skin and localized effects to reproductive organs.
The Verdict
Molecular hydrogen isn't a "blue pill" that works instantly. Instead, the research suggests it acts as a preventative and restorative therapy. By cleaning up the cellular environment and protecting the Nitric Oxide pathway, it helps the body function the way it was designed to.
Note: Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting a new supplement or gas therapy, especially if you are taking nitrates for heart conditions, as both H2 and ED medications can affect blood pressure.
Hydrogen Inhalation Protocol
Inhalation is used when higher therapeutic doses are needed for acute vascular or respiratory support.
Concentration: 1% to 4% hydrogen gas mixture.
Duration: 30 to 60 minutes per session.
Frequency: 1–2 times per day.
Note: This delivery method provides significantly more H2 to the body than drinking water (often 8–10 times more per hour).
Drinking hydrogen rich water.
This protocol is frequently used in studies targeting endothelial function (the lining of the blood vessels critical for erectile function).
Dosage: 3.5 mg of dissolved H2 molecules.
Volume: 500 mL (approx. 17 oz).
Timing: Consumed immediately (within 15 minutes) to ensure the peak concentration reaches the bloodstream.
Frequency: Once daily.
Result: A 2014 study showed a significant improvement in flow-mediated dilation (FMD)—the ability of an artery to widen—within 30 minutes of ingestion.
A molecular hydrogen bath protocol immersing the body in water enriched with dissolved hydrogen gas for 10–20 minutesto reduce oxidative stress, improve skin health, and aid muscle recovery. Optimal methods include using 10–20 hydrogen-producing tablets or a dedicated H2 generator in 30–40 gallons of warm water (98–104∘F)

This is the first in the series, "Molecular Hydrogen And Human Reproduction". Since the largest hydrogen interface on our body is the skin and molecular hydrogen is transdermal. We are going to do a deep dive. Investigating hydrogen bath and human reproductive genitals. The shortest path to human genitals is through the skin.
